about

This song is about knowing that a relationship with someone was impossible, despite best intentions on both sides. Fate, timing, God, distance, science, magic, all conspire to keep the two apart. This song came from acceptance of that situation. Sad, frustrating, and tragic.

lyrics

As I write another page in my book, there's so much I want to tell you
As I write another page of this fiction, I cling to magic, invention, or illusion to bring you here to me

And in this world of gravity our love can never be
I tried to bring you here to me, but this gravity keeps us away

If science had a conscience it wouldn't be so cold
But reality is the only place we can be living, and no magic, invention, or illusion can bring you here to me

And in this world of gravity our love can never be
I tried to bring you here to me, but this gravity keeps us away

And I will try to recover from the weight it has on me
And I will try to recover from gravity's effect on me

And in this world of gravity our love can never be
I tried to bring you here to me but this gravity keeps us away
